Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a bank Specialty Doctor/ GP to join our Hospital at Home service. The service is currently undergoing an exciting period of transformation, making this an excellent time to become part of a dynamic and innovative team. Post will be based at either Chippenham, Salisbury, Peasedown, Chippenham, Devizes or Swindon (with some remote working). The successful candidate will provide clinical assessment and management of patients, support the multidisciplinary team in delivering Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, and promote safe and timely discharge through close collaboration with the MDT, patients, and their families. Applicants should have experience in Geriatric Medicine, Acute Medicine, or General Medicine, with a strong background in working with patients living with frailty. While we ideally seek a full-time applicant, we are happy to consider part-time arrangements (minimum of 5 sessions per week).

The Ideal Candidate

  • Full GMC registration, eligible to work in the UK
  • Experience at specialty registrar level or as a GP, with strong background in geriatric, acute, or general medicine, particularly frailty care
  • Sound knowledge of the NHS, clinical governance, health policy, and evidence-based practice
  • Skilled in clear, accurate medical documentation (digital and manual); proficient in Microsoft Office
