About the Opportunity
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Facilities Directorate supports patient care every day through essential services such as catering, cleaning, and portering. We are excited to announce the launch of our new Facilities Staff Bank, offering flexible working opportunities across our hospitals and health centres.
Who Can Apply
You must currently be employed in one of the following Facilities roles within NHSGGC and will only be able to join the Bank in your existing speciality and at your current site:
- Domestic Assistant: Maintaining cleanliness across clinical and non-clinical areas, including mopping, vacuuming, replenishing supplies, and washroom maintenance.
- Catering Assistant: Supporting patient meal services, plating at ward level, assisting with functions, and maintaining catering equipment.
- Portering Assistant: Carrying out portering duties, assisting in emergencies, and ensuring hospital entrances and wards remain safe and accessible.
Available Sectors
- South: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
- North: Glasgow Royal Infirmary & Lightburn Hospital
- Clyde: Royal Alexandra Hospital, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital, Dumbarton & Health Centres
- West: Gartnavel Campus, Stobhill Hospital, Leverndale Hospital, Dykebar Hospital & Health Centres
Key Information
- You must currently work for Facilities within NHSGGC.
- You can only pick up shifts in your current site.
- You can only join the Bank in one speciality.
What You’ll Need

- Photographic identification
- Proof of residential address
- Support from your current line manager to join the Facilities Bank
- Proof of Statutory and Mandatory Training is up to date
