Experience of preparing, and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment. Well-developed oral communication skills are required, as the jobholder is required to direct and instruct junior catering/waiting staff. If successful, as part of our onboarding we will require you to confirm your full employment history from leaving full time education.

Newhouse Kilmarnock is looking to recruit a Bank Cook to join the team.Newhouse is located in the semi-rural village of Hurlford, near Kilmarnock, Scotland. Our home offers residential support for 22 adults with a primary learning disability diagnosis, who may also have physical health needs, or be on the autism spectrum.
What you'll be doing
- Creating, presenting and delivering nutritious meals to a high standard of quality
- Developing varied and interesting menus that take into account healthy eating guidelines and any dietary and nutritional requirements
- Supporting the provision of catering operations in line with the company’s policies and procedures
- Working with colleagues in the Care team to tailor meals based on our residents’ preferences and adjusting these based on any changes
- Involving residents with seasonal menu changes with the support of our Activity Coordinators
