The Bank Advanced Pharmacist plays a key leadership and specialist role within the clinical pharmacy service, delivering high-level pharmaceutical care to patients. Main duties of the job
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to pharmacy staff.
- Deliver specialist pharmaceutical care and non-medical prescribing (within scope).
- Support medicines optimisation and ensure safe, cost-effective use of medicines.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Develop and implement guidelines and policies on medicines use.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and service development.
- Supervise and train junior pharmacists, technicians, and students.
- Support clinical governance, risk management, and medicines safety initiatives.
- Promote compliance with local and national prescribing guidance.
- Maintain CPD and support staff development.
- Participate in dispensary duties and other assigned tasks as required.
