Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Maternity Services team in a key Quality Improvement role. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Maternity Services, supporting the development and delivery of complex, high-value projects aligned to Maternity Patient Safety priorities and Quality Improvement programmes.

The successful post holder will work closely with the Maternity Senior Team, clinical teams, and wider organisational stakeholders to support the implementation and delivery of improvement projects across services. The role will involve working across departmental and organisational boundaries to embed quality improvement methodology, promote best practice, and support sustainable service development.

The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting and championing the UHB Quality Improvement Programme using the Model for Improvement framework. Working alongside local change champions, they will help develop, implement, and monitor improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and patient experience within maternity services.

Applicants should have significant experience in leading and implementing change projects within large public sector organisations, ideally within an acute NHS setting. The successful candidate will be skilled in using a range of quality improvement tools and methodologies and will have the ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders across teams and organisations.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be working at the heart of Maternity Services and across departmental and organisational boundaries to contribute to the development and initiation of complex, high-value projects in line with the Maternity Patient Safety priorities and Quality Improvement Programmes.

The post holder will work with the Maternity senior team to manage and support the delivery of quality improvement projects.

The post holder will play a key role in helping embed quality improvement processes and best practices across maternity services and will help transfer knowledge to colleagues involved in project delivery.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of implementing a wide variety of change projects to a formal methodology within large public sector organisations, preferably within the acute NHS setting and will be able to work across organisational boundaries.

Using and championing best practice approaches and a wide range of improvement tools the post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of a number of improvement and strategic delivery projects with multiple stakeholders.

The post holder will support the UHB Quality Improvement programme using the Model for Improvement be engaging with local 'change champions' in the development, implementation and progress tracking of their projects.
