An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced senior children’s nurse to Lead the newly formed Children's Community Nursing Team that cares for Children and Young People within Barking , Havering and Redbridge.

This new collaboration of service will work within the Children’s Directorate.  As Lead Nurse you would be an expert practitioner in Children’s Community Nursing, enhancing the service and enabling the delivery of a safe high-quality service will be required to work leading a team of Children’s community nurse.  You must be able to evidence your ability to motivate and inspire others and work collaboratively with multi- disciplinary and multi-agency teams to deliver the highest standards of care, staff support, and service delivery.

The Lead nurse role will contribute to leading service delivery, supporting quality improvement and providing safe, effective and specialist care to BCYP alongside other specialist nursing services within the Children’s Directorate. Main duties of the job

To be an expert practitioner in Children’s Community Nursing, enhancing the service and enabling the delivery of a safe high-quality service.

To provide advanced clinical skills, leadership and knowledge in clinical practice.

To ensure Babies, Children’s and Young People (BCYP) receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time by leading the new collaboration of the BHRUT Children’s Community Nursing teams across the tri borough.

To contribute to leading service delivery, supporting quality improvement and providing safe, effective and specialist care to BCYP alongside other specialist nursing services within the Children’s Directorate.

To support innovative ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and child focused service working closely with the acute wards, specialist nurses, community providers and tertiary centres to deliver care within the home and reduce the length of stay.

To be responsible for the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with MDT colleagues.

To act as an excellent role model and leader to all staff
