The ideal candidate will:

Main duties of the job

The service is part of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust Women’s Health division. It works closely with Primary care and other community services to serve the whole population through:

  • ·         Clinics based at Ilford Exchange NHS Hub
  • ·         Patient engagement events and group consultations
  • ·         Education and training for primary care and other healthcare professionals
  • ·         Community engagement

This service is a newly established one running along the existing Specialist Gynaecology services in Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust. The Women’s Health Hub accepts GP’s referral via eRS. You will care for women with most gynaecological conditions including menstrual problems, menopause and vulvovaginal conditions as well as contraception (mainly insertion and removal of longer acting methods). Direct referrals from the hub to BHRUT Specialist Gynaecology are made for further investigation or more complex treatments if needed. Most patients are seen in a single visit.

There is a wide programme of education and engagement both to enable clinicians to build confidence in managing women’s health conditions and to ensure women are empowered to manage their conditions and seek help when needed. The service encourages clinicians to attend clinical sessions and participate in teaching as widely as possible. Varying educational needs in primary care are addressed through proactive engagement with practices.
