We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Children and Young People’s  Occupational Therapist to join a well-established and continuously growing, professional, warm, and welcoming team in Camden. The CYP's Occupational Therapy service offers a high-quality service to all children aged from 0-19 in Camden.

The Royal Free London has an extensive offer for upskilling staff in clinical areas, Leadership, and Quality Improvement providing excellent opportunities for learning, development, and networking opportunities, appropriate for all Band levels. Our highly skilled team will support you in developing their clinical skills further via supervision and support, as well as external training to areas of interest for you and the service.

The post holder will be based at Kentish Town Health Centre and will be part of the Social Communication Assessment Service (SCAS).

Main duties of the job

The CYP's OT service offers a high quality service to all eligible children, aged from birth to school leaving age, who live or attend school in Camden or who are registered with a Camden GP. The service covers more than 50 primary and secondary schools, special schools and units, nurseries and children’s centres.

The main duties of this post are:

To provide highly specialist clinical support as part of the multidisciplinary Camden MOSAIC Services, Social Communication Assessment Service (SCAS).

  • To provide a highly specialist service to children / young people with suspected neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on diagnostic assessment.
  • To support in the development of training packages to school staff / parents / other professionals, in order for them to identify concerns regarding the child /young persons needs and implement therapy advice effectively.
  • To prioritise the safeguarding of vulnerable children / young people at all times
  • To support the service to achieve Key Performance Indicators, maintaining Target Activity Levels and demonstrating impact re quality and outcomes.
  • To lead on quality governance, audits and projects for the team/service
  • To be responsible for the supervision and line management of identified team members as required.
  • To support relevant senior managers in Camden MOSAIC with service development.
  • To deputise for relevant senior managers in Camden MOSAIC in the day to day management of the team or key tasks as requested.
