We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Midwife to join our maternity team as a Flow Coordinator. The post holder will provide senior clinical oversight of the maternity unit, coordinating patient flow, staffing and redeployment in response to acuity and service pressures. You will provide visible senior clinical support to the multidisciplinary team, facilitate effective communication and escalation, and support the delivery of safe, timely and high-quality care. The role requires a confident, adaptable and proactive midwife with excellent leadership, prioritisation and decision-making skills, who can work collaboratively and provide support across the unit in a busy and changing environment.

Main duties of the job

To be able to have a helicopter view of the acuity within maternity unit including the community and ongoing home births to enable redeployment as per clinical need.

To provide excellent leadership guidance and clinical expertise and support for all teams within maternity, and across the MDT working collaboratively across all maternity areas.

Promote high standards of specialist care for patients in all areas of maternity, ensuring a quality experience is received.

Provide and promote a high standard of clinical excellence whilst coordinating the clinical activities on shift.

Establish effective working relationships with the Maternity team, inpatient and outpatient. Promote positive interpersonal relationships.
