Job summary

Main duties of the job

Experience in adult clinical care and/or home enteral nutrition is preferred, though applicants with a strong interest in adult HEN may be considered and supported with training. Strong communication skills are essential. The role involves a proactive, hands-on approach to enteral feeding tubes and close collaboration with patients, carers, and professionals. Future opportunities may include supporting adult services with balloon or nasogastric tube changes following appropriate training, though this is not required.

The service offers established CPD, close links with University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Dietitians, and involvement in research, audit, and student dietitian placements. The HENS team sits within the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Nutrition and Dietetic Service, supporting adults and children across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland who require home enteral nutrition. The wider service covers outpatient clinics, domiciliary visits, inpatients, mental health, learning disabilities, specialist weight management, and work with nurseries and schools.

The post is based at the Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic Service Headquarters near the M1/M69. A full driving licence and access to a car during working hours are required.
