An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified HCPC registered Occupational Therapists to join our band 6 OT neurological rehabilitation rotation.

You will work as part of the interdisciplinary teams at West Midlands Rehab Centre and Moseley Hall Hospital providing a quality Occupational Therapy Service to clients with complex impairments (predominantly significant neurological disability).The post holder will be accountable for a designated caseload, working collaboratively with other Occupational Therapists and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the client needs are met.

The delivery of rehabilitation programs and interventions maybe within a local and / or regional remit and take place within the hospital unit, client’s home or in the community.  These may involve moving around the community without direct support on a daily basis with potentially long periods of driving.

The post will rotate annually within the following the services at:

West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre:

- Specialist Neuro-rehabilitation and complex disability

- Access to communication and technology (2 year post)

Moseley Hall Hospital in and outpatient services:

- Inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Unit,

- Birmingham Neurological Rehabilitation Team

- Moor Green outpatient brain injury unit.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have relevant clinical experience within neurology and the assessment of complex disability and be flexible to meet the demands of all the different services.

You must have good organisational skills including prioritisation of workload and time management skills and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge and application of up to date clinical trends and practices including evidence based ones

You must be able to communicate effectively with patients /carers /colleagues and other agencies and be able to generate written communication, which is relevant, concise, accurate and legible.

You must be a car driver to enable travel to community patients.

You must be able to travel between the service bases and to patients in the community.
