Are you interested in joining an established inpatient mental health Allied Health Professionals team? We are looking for a band 6 OT to join our team at Woodlands. The AHP team works across our older adults ward, our 2 acute adult wards and the Psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU).

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate OT who can lead and develop the OT role in the specialist setting of the PICU. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist OT assessment, formulation and intervention for males experiencing acute and complex mental health difficulties.

Working closely with nursing, medical, psychology and other AHP colleagues, OT is a valued part of the MDT.

It is an exciting time to be an Allied Health Professional at Norfolk and Suffolk because of investment in AHP leadership.

Main duties of the job

Discharge and transition planning

Working 1-1 or in groups to rebuild skills and routines that support recovery

Adapting interventions to take mental state, functional ability and risk into account

MDT working

Leadership and supervision for members of the AHP team and students. This may include being a preceptor or a mentor for an apprentice OT.

Assessment and prescription of mobility equipment, working alongside the team Physiotherapist.
