Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (NMHTs), as they embark on further development and support the roll-out of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs).

Our NMHTs are multi-disciplinary, locality based teams, each providing a service based around a number of Primary Care Networks (PCNs).  The teams bridge the gap between GP only mental health care and Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), providing increased access to services, a holistic view to mental health needs and intervention, and earlier prevention.

NMHTs are currently supporting the roll-out of INTs (Integrated Neighbourhood Teams) which are led by Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) Trust as part of the Community Care Collaborative work.  The INTs bring together a number of agencies (health, social care and voluntary sector) to support those who use services more frequently or who require a more coordinated approach across services.  The INTs are organised around PCNs and meet every week to discuss cases.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide triage, assessment, and short-term, evidence based intervention.  They will actively liaise with other services including our voluntary sector colleagues.  They will support INT meetings, giving a mental health perspective, and will be allocated clinical cases for assessment and intervention where appropriate.  They will also provide liaison with other Trust services.

This is a great opportunity to further develop collaborative working across services and organisations and develop relationships for effective working.

Work may be within Trust premises, GP surgeries, or community bases, and there will be a requirement to move between different sites.  While initial focus is on East locality, there will be a requirement to work across other NHMTs dependent on the progress of the roll-out.  Flexibility is therefore essential.

We would really encourage you to call for a chat if you are interested in this role, so that we can share more details about the opportunity.  If you are applying on a secondment basis please remember to discuss with your manager.
