Job summary

Main duties of the job

  • The post involves providing specialist assessment and intervention to children and young people and their families.
  • Responsibilities include attending MDT meetings, being part of formulation discussions, holding clinical responsibility for patients, working with families and wider networks such as social care and schools.
  • To provide specialist assessment of eating disorders alongside additional assessment of comorbid difficulties, such as trauma-related symptoms, alongside contributing to the assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • To provide therapeutic input to young people and their families as part of their first line treatment for eating disorders.
  • To also provide therapeutic input for comorbid difficulties such as low mood and anxiety.
  • To support the duty triage process by offering initial telephone reviews for new referrals.
