You will be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist with experience in echocardiography. The role requires independent practice in transthoracic echocardiography; however, for candidates not yet accredited, a structured and bespoke training programme towards BSE accreditation will be provided within a highly skilled and supportive echocardiography team.
In addition to your primary focus within echocardiography, you will be expected to contribute to other areas of the cardiac diagnostic service as required. You will be supported to work towards BSE accreditation through a bespoke training programme, which is an essential component of both the role and your ongoing professional development.
The post holder will be expected to:
Perform and interpret routine cardiac investigations to a high standard
Undertake specialised cardiology diagnostic procedures appropriate to experience and competency
Contribute to audit and quality improvement activity to enhance patient care and service delivery
Support the training and development of university students and junior members of the team
Communicate effectively within the multidisciplinary team to promote a positive patient experience
Assist the Principal Cardiac Physiologist and senior team members in the day-to-day organisation and delivery of the cardiothoracic diagnostic service
All staff are expected to adhere to Trust policies, procedures, and professional standards at all times. The post holder may also be required to undertake additional duties appropriate to the band, in line with service needs.
