Job summary

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to plan, organise and oversee the day-to-day caseload of the service to meet service requirements, adjusting workloads to accommodate changing and complex needs. Whilst line managing a defined group of staff and volunteers.

Supporting recruitment, training, mentorship and coordination of service delivery and empowering staff to develop personally and professionally achieving their potential is fundamental.

Demonstrate advanced, empathetic communication skills when supporting patients and carers throughout the cancer pathway, including periods of distress, anxiety, diagnosis, recurrence and end-of-life care are crucial to this role.

Act as a credible and professional role model, delivering presentations and training sessions to staff, patients and service users to promote cancer information and personalised care. This requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
