Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care needs. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, they support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in maintaining patient safety, service quality, and a positive patient experience. The role includes supervising and supporting Nursing Assistants, ensuring compliance with training and appraisal requirements, taking delegated leadership responsibilities, and managing the ward in the absence of the Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. The post holder acts as a professional role model, promoting excellence in practice and continuous improvement in patient care.
