Job summary

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be delivering complex injections, liaising with pharmacy and medical staff. You will also be involved with brachytherapy, admitting, and caring for poorly patients as they arise.

You will be expected to do peripheral cannulation, phlebotomy and PICC line care as the needs of the service demands.

The band 5 staff nurse will also be expected to do a late shift from time to time staying past 6pm if a patient will need admitting to hospital or waiting for hospital transport. You will also be expected to communicate to the wider team including CNS nurses, consultants, AOS and pharmacy.

They will work as part of a team but also use their own initiative. They will follow the duties of a safe registered nurse as per job description and the NMC code of conduct.
