Job summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Band 5 Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and delivering the Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource, a research programme focused on improving our understanding of health conditions and their impact on UK Black communities.
The role will also support the delivery of early phase clinical research studies within the CRF, including participant facing trial activities, maintenance of study documentation, and data management. The CRF delivers complex and innovative experimental research across a range of diseases and conditions, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic clinical research environment.

Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Clinical Research Facility (CRF). You will demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and have an appreciation of the importance of lived experience and equitable access to research participation across all communities.
The role will involve the coordination and delivery of the Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource, in addition to supporting the delivery of early phase experimental studies in the CRF.
Responsibilities will include identifying/screening potential participants, obtaining informed consent, collecting/processing blood and tissue samples, recording vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (ECGs) and phlebotomy. The post holder will support the maintenance of Investigator Site Files, management of study data, respond to data queries, assist with the sponsor monitoring visits and ensure study procedures are conducted in accordance with the study protocol and regulatory requirements.
The role will require excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with participants, explain research studies, answer questions, and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
