
Job overview
You will work as an anaesthetic nurse or operating department practitioner, caring for patients throughout their peri-operative journey. The post holder will work closely with the anaesthetic team caring for patients before, during and post anaesthesia.
The post holder will also be able to work with patients both in the scrub area and in the recovery room, and utilise the skills they have in all the areas.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team in theatres, including pre assessment, day surgery and recovery, to ensure patients have a safe journey throughout the perioperative journey.
The role encompasses the entire role of the operating department practitioner, theatre nurse from admission through to discharge.
The post holder will work closely with the anaesthetic team and will be expected to support other areas in the department.
