Provide a highly advanced, comprehensive, and confidential medical secretarial service to Consultants and their team. Operate autonomously, managing complex workloads to tight deadlines while demonstrating extensive knowledge of medical terminology, exceptional organisational abilities, and strong leadership skills to support the effective delivery of clinical services.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing diaries, meetings, and theatre schedules.
Supervising clerical staff and trainees.
Typing complex clinical documentation using advanced medical terminology.
Drafting sensitive patient correspondence, handling complex clinical and non-clinical enquiries.
Acting as a key point of contact for GPs, healthcare professionals, patients, and relatives.
Monitoring investigation results, prioritising actions based on clinical need, and maintaining accurate patient records using hospital systems
Managing leave notifications and prioritising incoming correspondence.
