Main duties of the job
- Delivered professional barbering services, including hair cutting, beard and moustache trimming, shampooing, and styling for patients within a secure forensic mental health hospital.
- Promoted patients' dignity, confidence, and wellbeing by providing a welcoming, respectful, and person-centred grooming service.
- Consulted with patients to understand their preferences while providing professional advice on hairstyles and hair and scalp care.
- Maintained high standards of hygiene by cleaning, disinfecting, sterilising, and safely storing barbering equipment in line with infection prevention and control procedures.
- Conducted routine security checks and adhered to all security protocols required within a high-secure healthcare environment.
- Assisted with the operation of the Patients' Shop by serving customers, operating the till, replenishing stock, pricing goods, processing patient orders, and supporting stock control and stocktaking activities.
- Demonstrated flexibility by supporting wider Rehabilitation Services as required while maintaining high standards of customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
