The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust has the following vacancies for  decontamination technicians at their Decontamination Services unit based in Enfield.

2 x Monday to Friday 22:00 to 06:00 shift 2 x Wednesday to Sunday 22:00 to 06:00 shift  1 x Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 shift

The hours are 37.5 a week but flexibility is a must for these roles.  You will receive an enhancement of pay for working unsocial hours and weekends.

The roles involve the following :

To stand for prolonged periods of time.  To lift a considerable load above the waist. To bend, crouch, lift and turn repeatedly.  Pushing and pulling heavy transportation.

The unit has the capacity to process 14 million surgical instruments and 140,000 flexible endoscopes a year and we provide a service to our own customers, other NHS, and Private Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to assist in the day-to-day production, issue and distribution of medical devices required for clinical use.  Technicians are required to follow demonstrated training and work instructions to ensure production is to a high standard.

  • Able to work in all areas of the department – including wash areas, loading unloading and distribution of stock.

Experience

  • User of autoclaves and washer disinfectors
  • Previously worked with ISO13485
  • Previously worked as SSD Technician
