Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Audiologist to join our Audiology Service across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

You will be part of a comprehensive hearing assessment and rehabilitation service, working with adults and children across hospital and community settings. The role offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical skills including diagnostic audiology, hearing aid assessment and rehabilitation, direct access clinics and domiciliary services.

Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess hearing, recommend appropriate management options and provide rehabilitation to help patients maximise their communication abilities and quality of life. You will also contribute to service development, quality improvement, and training activities within the department.

The successful candidate will be based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, with travel between sites and outreach clinics required.

We are looking for someone who shares our values of listening, learning and improving, treating everyone with respect, and working together as one team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career Audiologist seeking to develop their clinical expertise within a supportive and progressive service.

Main duties of the job

As an Audiologist, you will provide diagnostic assessment, hearing aid rehabilitation and ongoing support to adults with hearing and communication difficulties.

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions. If you’re comfortable holding everyday conversations in Welsh, we encourage you to apply. Your Welsh language skills will help us provide person-centred care and enable patients to receive services in their language of choice. Have a look at our ‘Croeso Candidate’ booklet below for more information.
