Job overview

Are you a registered nurse who is passionate about education, supporting learners and improving practice learning experiences?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to join our Practice Education Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting pre-registration nursing students, student nursing associates, apprentices and healthcare support workers across a diverse range of clinical settings.

As an Associate Practice Education Facilitator, you will work closely with clinical teams, Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and university partners to help ensure learners receive high-quality support, supervision and assessment. You will be a visible and approachable educational resource, supporting the development of positive learning environments and helping to shape the future nursing workforce.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who embodies our Trust values of Kind, Collaborative, Expert and Aspirational. You will be committed to creating inclusive learning environments, value the contribution of others, and be motivated to make a positive difference to learners and the quality of practice education across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • As an Associate Practice Education Facilitator, you will support learners, Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and clinical teams to deliver high-quality practice learning experiences. You will contribute to the implementation of the NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA), support the development of staff involved in learner supervision and assessment, and help promote excellence in practice learning across a range of clinical settings.
  • The role involves working collaboratively with clinical teams and university partners to support learner progression, provide educational guidance, monitor practice learning environments and identify opportunities for quality improvement. You will contribute to placement quality reviews, learner support initiatives, educational activities, practice education projects and service development work that enhances learner experience and organisational objectives.
  • We are looking for a registered nurse with experience of supporting learners in practice and an understanding of the NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment. You will have excellent communication, facilitation and organisational skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with learners, clinical teams and university partners.
  • You will be able to work autonomously within your scope of practice, recognise when to seek support, and contribute proactively to quality improvement and service development.
