Job summary
The post holder will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine. The post holder will support the School's Operational Programme and lead on programmes of work within the School's strategy. The post holder will be a member of the School Board.
The post holder will support the School's commitment to delivering excellent postgraduate training, in a variety of educational environments which promote staff wellbeing, a positive learning culture, and a sense of belonging.
As a result of NHS England's (NHSE) integration into the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), please note that the end date for all new educator appointments will be 31st March 2027. The successful applicant will be updated regarding potential extensions (not guaranteed) beyond this date.
Main duties of the job
This post will have oversight, in particular, of:
1. Training in Internal Medicine Stage 1 programmes
2. The work of the Examination Support TPDs and development of training resources for the MRCP(UK) examination
Courses that prepare HSTs for consultant practice (including leadership)

Secondments

To promote faculty development and direction setting by supporting and developing Training Programme Directors.
To work with host trusts, ICBs and clinical colleagues to promote the work of the School and encourage a collegiate approach to the delivery of specialty training across NHSE North West WT&E, including participation in School and NHSE activities.
To work with the Head of School, Lead Associate Dean for the School, the Deputy Dean for Quality and the NHSE North West Office Quality Team to ensure appropriate quality management systems are in place that facilitate a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement

Qualifications

- Consultant or Specialist Doctor in Medicine and currently works in the NW England in NHS Trust
