We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our directorate team as Associate Director of Nursing to help us lead and improve the delivery of community services in Oxfordshire. This is a pivotal role overseeing the quality-of-care delivery in our diverse services, driving improvements in quality, safety, patient experience and outcomes for our staff and diverse population. Reporting to the Clinical Director, with key professional reporting lines to the Trusts Chief Nursing Officer, you will be a key member of the directorate senior leadership team, providing strategic leadership and oversight of the quality agenda. You will ensure that all services are safe, effective and person centred, with robust systems in place to identify risk, drive improvement and deliver assurance.

This role offers a significant opportunity for a strong, credible and resilient nursing leader to operate at a senior level, developing system partnerships beyond the Trust whilst potentially developing towards future Chief Nursing Officer role.

Main duties of the job

The Associate Director of Nursing is responsible for the professional standards of nursing within the directorate. Their personal responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing a framework for clinical governance and quality within the directorate.
  • Lead on the implementation of Quality improvement and learning from incidents and provide professional leadership of nursing and care colleagues.
  • Leading on workforce planning (including role development and advanced clinical practice).
  • Providing professional leadership within System partnerships including Integrated Locality working.
  • Growing the capability and capacity of R&D and QI by expanding the use of QI methodology and securing the link between QI and the operational and clinical challenges we face in the directorate.
  • Ensuring the directorate and wider Trust preparedness and delivery of End-of-Life care is fit for purpose.
  • Lead QI  and co-design with partners whilst developing neighbourhood and locality working.
