This role is suited to a registered nurse working at Band 6 CNS level in Pain Management, or to a registered nurse working in an acute ward/unit who can demonstrate pain-related improvement activity, a strong desire to learn, self-directed learning related to pain and a track record of improving pain management for patients—for example, through Link Nurse or Pain Champion experience. We are seeking someone with the commitment, professionalism and dedication to make a difference to our patients.
Within our well-established acute pain service, you’ll develop your clinical skills and manage your own caseload under the close supervision of an experienced team leader. You’ll also advise medical and surgical teams on pain management, with support from the wider team, and advocate for patients and their carers. The role includes helping to deliver teaching to nursing staff, contributing to the Trust’s nursing strategy and participating in audit and transformation projects. You’ll have the opportunity to work across three major hospitals—Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary’s—each with a world-renowned reputation for education, research and expert clinical care provision.
