Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Trainee Associate Audiologist.
This is an apprenticeship training position that will include completion of a foundation degree in Audiology. Alongside this training, you will be supported by our departmental mentoring team to begin seeing patients in the adult population covering Southend, Castle Point and Brentwood areas.
Main duties of the job
- Hearing assessment and the prescribing / provision of appropriate rehabilitative devices and strategies to patients
- Fitting and maintenance of hearing aids to adult patients across sites managed by Southend Audiology

The successful candidate will work as part of the audiological team; planning and carrying out hearing assessments and rehabilitation to adult patients.

Qualifications
Essential
- 3 GCSEs at C/4 or above including English and Maths
- 32 UCAS points to access professional training (1 A level at grade C / BTEC National Diploma at grade M, T level pass overall)
Communication Skills
Essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to relay and interpret clinical information
Desirable
- Experience of working with deaf/hard-of-hearing people
Knowledge / Experience
Essential
- Experience within a customer care setting
- Good organisational skills
- Able to use a range of IT applications such as Office
Desirable
- Experience in a healthcare environment
