12 month Fixed Term Contract

Your main duties of the job are to support the delivery of Neuropsychological care to stroke and other brain injury survivors experiencing cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties post injury. Providing interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.

You will have opportunities to work closely with other multidisciplinary teams in the community, primary care, the acute neuro rehab team, and other external agencies. There is an in-service training programme in place and an intensive Trust and Local induction will be provided.

The post is within a multidisciplinary team and you will work alongside Neuro Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses and Rehab Assistants.

The post will be based in the North of the county with your base being City Care Centre – Peterborough, Doddington Community Hospital, Princess of Wales – Ely or North Cambs Hospital - Wisbech however there maybe times where they are expected to cover further across the county.

The successful candidate will work in an agile manner using virtual consultation to manage their caseload of patients, having access to a smart phone and laptop to support this.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 Assistant psychologist within Neuro Psychology to support the delivery of Neuro Psychology rehab as in-reach to the inpatient rehab beds, as well as working with patients in their own homes within the Early supported Discharge for Stroke and Community Neuro Rehab team for a 12 month fixed term contract.  You will play a vital part in supporting patients with cognitive and psychosocial challenges as part of a MDT to achieve their potential whilst instigating and delivering better health, better care and better outcomes for our patients.

Staff personal and professional development is viewed as highly important, and staff have the opportunity to receive training through an in-house in-service training programme as well as being supported to undertake a blended competency package to help you develop within your profession and role.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable to support service delivery across the organisation.

Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence* and have use of a vehicle. You cannot use public transport for this role as this is not a reliable form of transport and will not allow you to meet service needs.   • To support and enhance the professional psychology care of clients of the Integrated Stroke ESD and Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service across inpatient and community settings.
  • To provide psychological assessment and neurophysical interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist. Working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
  • To assist in clinically related administration, conducting audits, collection of data and statistics, development of audit and/or research projects and teaching.
  • To attend psychology supervision on a weekly basis and engage in CPD as agreed with supervisor and professional manager.
