We have a vacancy for a part-time, 22.5hr/pw Assistant Psychologist, based at Eastway, our inpatient Assessment and Treatment unit, specialising in supporting adults with a Learning Disability.

This advert is likely to close early due to an expected high level of interest.

The successful applicant will be joining a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking multi-disciplinary team, and will be well supported by our Clinical Psychologist, including the provision of regular Clinical Supervision.

There will be lots of opportunities for development of clinical skills through direct and indirect work with service users, and training opportunities. They will take responsibility for carrying out psychological screening assessments and brief interventions. There will also be opportunity to complete audit and small-scale research projects, and to contribute to, and deliver training to colleagues.

The base for this post will be within the Countess of Chester Health Park, Chester, Cheshire.

Main duties of the job

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
