This is a full-time role, on permanent contract. The First Steps and CAMHS Disability Teams are well-established and offer a wide range of care pathways including specialist therapeutic interventions, neurodevelopmental assessments with post-diagnostic support, MDT and group interventions, SPA/duty and initial assessments and brief, focused interventions for autism and ADHD. Systemic and relational models form the basis for much our work, alongside behavioural techniques and a variety of specialist, evidence based approaches. Referrals are diverse, reflecting our local diverse community which we are proud to serve. We are part of delivering the local mental health in schools program within primary and special schools, and we are launching a new and innovative assessment pathway, for hub and spoke assessments, rooted in a treatment first principle to meet need. Training and CPD are an integral part of our service offer to all staff, as is regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice guidelines and Trust Policy.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

• Complete supervised diagnostic assessment work with children and young people aged 5-18.
• Plan and coordinate, and support co-delivery where required, post diagnostic interventions, including group parenting programmes and psychoeducation (virtual/individual/group basis)
• Maintain databases for effective assessment and post-diagnostic tracking; keep the electronic patient record synchronised with database.
• Support clinical work of qualified staff with diagnostic assessments (e.g. ADOS, school observations, cognitive assessments, play-based assessments, Qb) and compile diagnostic reports.
• Assist with screening and initial information gathering for referral decision-making and letter writing to feedback outcomes/decisions.
• Act as a single point of contact for clinic/group enquiries, escalating complex matters to pathways leads.
• Develop clinical resources for assessments, groups and interventions.
• Produce and deliver training materials for schools and settings.
