A B4 Assistant Psychologist post in the Assertive Community Engagement team (part of South Shropshire CMHS) in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Care Group (MPFT).

Aim of post is working with people who have serious. complex psychosis engaging them in psychology, providing team formulation, working as a member of this close MDT.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions. With supervision of a senior psychologist.

The post-holder will work with the multi-agency team.

• The post-holder will use research skills for audit, teaching, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

• The post-holder will compile and disseminate relevant resources.
• The post-holder will work closely with both psychologists and other members of the Multidisciplinary Team
• The post holder will promote and maintain good working relationships with clients, their families, carers and other external agencies
• The post-holder will assist in the development and delivery of individual and group interventions for clients with mental health difficulties delivering evidence based psychological therapies according to the service user’s presenting difficulties and team requirements.
• To use supervision to support own work and to prepare for supervision.

· The post-holder will receive regular clinical professional supervision from senior qualified psychologists in the service.
