Job overview

To deliver and maintain a professional administrative service to the Cancer directorate and all users patients, relatives and colleagues.

Monitor and produce work of the quality and quantity required ensuring expected Trust and department standards and deadlines are met and all appointments are within the Government and Trust target times.

Main duties of the job

Direct contact with patients.

Greet visitors face-to-face and respond to requests for a range of information.

Receive and respond to telephone calls dealing with a range of requests.

Receive and respond to emails for a range of requests.

Book appointments and transport.

Check patient information.

Photocopy and filing.

Input information on Trust systems.

Attend handover meetings as required taking notes when necessary.

Ensure all tests/treatments requested are booked.

Cover Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Second role covers Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Also Bank Holidays on a rotational basis.

All appointments with a start date on or after 1 October 2026 will be subject to a 12-week probationary period. This provides a structured and supportive period to help you settle into your role, with regular reviews and feedback.
