Exciting opportunities have arisen for pivotal roles in service delivery based within the North Region, as Area Service Managers.
This managerial post plays a critical role in the achievement of the North Region’s performance targets and the ongoing development of our continuous improvement agenda. The post holders will assume an important role within the management structure for the North Region with responsibility for teams within both Scheduled and Emergency / Unscheduled Care Services. In addition, you will be expected to provide management support at operational incidents as required and participate in the Regional On-Call arrangements.
Ideal candidates will possess the drive and enthusiasm to deliver results proactively and reactively and have an understanding of the key issues and challenges facing the Scottish Ambulance Service. It is essential that you possess excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, organisational and analytical skills along with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. You should be able to demonstrate strong leadership and have the ability to build, develop, motivate, mentor and lead teams.
You must evidence relevant experience in a management, supervisory or leadership role and have experience of stakeholder engagement. Previous experience of managing budgets, project management, involvement in managing change, working with internal/external partners and implementing local delivery plans would be advantageous. As would the achievement of or working towards a management qualification.
You must be committed to improving quality and standards of care, have an openness to new organisational structures, procedures and technology and support cultural change. You must also be IT literate and possess a driving licence.

There is also some flexibility in relation to the hours of work and applications will be considered for those who may wish to work on a part time basis as well as those who would prefer full time hours.
