Are you an experienced and dynamic nurse with a strong background Anticoagulation and clinical leadership? We are seeking a dedicated band 7 Anticoagulation nurse manager to lead and develop our Anticoagulation service, ensuring safe, high quality care for patients receiving anticoagulant therapy.

You will be responsible for the operational management, clinical leadership, and development of our anticoagulation service. Working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams you will ensure the delivery of evidenced based care, support innovation, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Main duties of the job

Perform comprehensive assessment of patient nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery

Perform advanced clinical skills in assessment, monitoring, treatment and discharge. Provide advice for complex dosing issues

Communicates highly sensitive information to patients and relatives/carers

Collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate patient records.

Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.

Provide specialist, clinical knowledge to nursing colleagues, health care professionals, patients and carers/relatives.

Following the successful completion of a Non Medical Prescribing course and registering the qualification with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, have the ability to prescribe as a non-medical Prescriber (NMP) for Anticoagulant patients according to a Personal formulary of medicine.

Manage and organise the Anticoagulant Service, ensuring dosing and clerk tasks are completed to the required standard.

Supervise nursing colleagues on an individual or group basis.

Write and review SOPs.

Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources.

Participate in the recruitment and retention of staff.

Ensure equipment and stocks are maintained, operational and quality controlled.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £16 per year applies.
