Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term position funded by the Peninsula Cancer Academy. This post will be to support the AHP workforce working in cancer, working as a mentor in facilitating the implementation of the ACCEND framework and helping embed this into current processes to the existing and future AHP workforce. The post holder will be HCPC registered.

In this role you would be part of the ACCEND project with the PCA, there will be a requirement to complete reporting/feedback surveys as part of the Peninsula programme.

Main duties of the job

Promoting continuous learning and development and heighten awareness of cancer education, training and, development opportunities.

Providing mentorship to the AHP cancer workforce and to enhance care provision across cancer services within the trust.

Develop the skills and knowledge of the AHP cancer workforce across different disciplines.

Design and deliver a structured induction aligned with ACCEND capabilities, ensuring new AHP's understand their role, expectations, and available support.

Liaise with line managers and teams to ensure consistent support for staff, promoting a personalised approach to skill and knowledge development, through the use of self-assessment against the ACCEND framework.

Support staff and managers to use ACCEND in their review discussions and appraisal conversations.

Support AHP's to develop in role and gain competence and confidence to progress their careers, by imparting knowledge, skills and experience through coaching, education and guidance.

Support more experienced staff who may require help to explore current practice and also consider new ways of working to support changing demands in healthcare.
