Join our Vision Screening Team and help make a difference to children's eye health.

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Vision Screening Team as a AHP Vision screening support worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated team supporting the delivery of vision screening services for school-aged children.

As a Vision Screening Assistant, you will work both independently and as part of the Vision Screening Team, supporting the delivery of some clinical and administrative duties.

You will assist Specialist Orthoptists in carrying out vision screening programmes for children in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner.

The role involves working within mainstream schools and hospital settings, helping to ensure that children receive high-quality vision screening in line with NHS screening guidelines.

About You

• Valid driving licence and have access to a car
• Experience of working with children and young people.
• Experience of inputting data and using computer systems.

Main duties of the job

• You will support Specialist Orthoptists in delivering vision screening programmes for school-aged children in schools and hospital settings.
• The role involves setting up screening environments, escorting and supporting children during screening sessions, ensuring consent procedures are followed, and maintaining accurate records on SystmOne. You will also manage screening paperwork, respond to telephone enquiries, and provide administrative support to ensure the efficient delivery of the service.
• Working both independently and as part of the Vision Screening Team, you will help ensure screening is delivered in line with NHS guidelines and Trust policies.
