To co-ordinate the management and development of the team delivering specialist clinical pharmacy services to Cancer & Haematology patients via the Aseptic Unit. Haematology & Cancer services are part of the CHUGGS (Cancer Haematology Urology Gastroenterology and General Surgery) CMG.
To provide expert pharmaceutical and technical advice to improve patients care.
To contribute to the CMG business planning process in order that clinical pharmacy services are reviewed and developed in line with National Guidelines and legislation to ensure a high quality service.
To provide accurate and timely financial support to the CMG management team.
To provide specialist input into the management of haematology / oncology clinical trials.
To undertake the final check and release of aseptically compounded products and supervise the aseptic process, by acting as an Authorised Pharmacist in the aseptic unit as defined in the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services: Standards Handbook.
To participate in the ongoing delivery of chemotherapy electronic prescribing.
To attend quality management meetings as appropriate and proactively contribute to and support the pharmaceutical elements of the business planning process around aseptic lab capacity.
To actively support and develop pharmacists within the CMG with particular regard to technical training.
To work in conjunction with the clinical trials pharmacists to ensure appropriate validated documentation is in place prior to trial commencement.
