An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse or midwife experienced in delivering contraception care and who is a faculty registered trainer to work as part of a team delivering a range of SRH training to nursing staff in primary care.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work Primary Care colleagues and support their training embedded in a range of LSRHS clinical services which will include working with a diverse range of clients across a variety of clinics within LSRHS including provision of genitourinary medicine, long-acting reversible contraception.

The post holder will be expected to share in the management and leadership of the nursing team.

Essential Criteria for the job include: First level registered nurse with a current NMC registration, Significant post registration experience working within the speciality of SRH, Experience of managing staff and developing services, Demonstrable interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Experience in a leadership role, Experience of line managing staff, Extended clinical competencies in sexual and reproductive health e.g.subdermal implant insertion / removal, microscopy, CoSRH LoC IUT and either LoC SDI or local certificate equivalent, Faculty registered trainer (FRT) and experience of delivering STIF training. Driver’s licence

Desirable criteria include: experience of working with vulnerable patient groups, and use of interpreting services; independent non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards this; and a willingness to work unsocial hours and travel independently throughout Lothian.

The post is Band 7 on the Agenda for Change payscale.
