The Role
The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge. The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self management. Provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and out with the service. Will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes. Furthermore, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in service area in conjunction with the care group lead and will implement research, audit and to develop a service that responds to national initiatives policies and clinical governance.
In this key role, you will:
- To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the own professional activities.
- Facilitate increased awareness of evidence-based practice within the service and assist the organisation and development of specialist postgraduate education/ training of physiotherapists and other health care professionals working within the clinical speciality and other physiotherapy services.
- In conjunction with the care group lead, continually develops the specialist physiotherapy service in line with Divisional and National strategic direction, incorporating patient/public involvement.
- To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the identified specialist service.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
