Band 3 – Advanced Biomedical Support Worker

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of Advanced Biomedical Support Worker.

As part of the support worker team your duties may include analyser maintenance, sample processing on automated equipment, performing non-complex laboratory tests and reception duties such as labelling and sorting the laboratory requests then entering the patient details & test requests onto the laboratory computer system.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a Diagnostic Blood Science laboratory environment, working with analytical equipment or equivalent experience. You will be a good team player as you will be working with a team of other Biomedical Support Worker staff in a busy environment. You will be expected to provide a high level of service to our users and be able to work in a high pace environment delivering results for our patients.

This is a full time position which may be rostered across core shifts, Backshifts, weekends, and overnight shift once suitable training has taken place.

Blood Science Laboratory Services are provided from the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), Western General Hospital (WGH), and St John’s Livingston (SJH). Your base will be agreed at interview.
