Working Full time : 37.5 hours per week

The post-holder will be part of the Planned Care Admissions Team and will manage the day to day responsibilities of sending for waiting list patients whilst maximising Theatre session utilisation, arranging pre-admission appointments and dealing with patients who cancel or fail to attend in line with the Trust’s policy.

Main duties of the job

  • To work in conjunction with the Assistant Service Managers/Service Line to monitor and manage the Surgical waiting lists in line with the Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that reportable waiting deadlines are not breached.
  • Monitor daily PTL ensuring accuracy, highlighting and rectifying errors as they occur, escalating issues in advance (e.g. capacity problems) to the Management Team /Service Line as appropriate.
  • To accurately add patients to the waiting list, ensuring all admission details are fully completed, arranging admissions in accordance with clinical priority and breach date. To maintain and update patient records including any cancellations, suspensions, additional comments or patient communication.
  • To maintain the accuracy of data entered, especially in relation to the recording of patient choice and suspensions when booking TCI’s.
