Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced administrator to join the Single Point of Access service in Oxfordshire.

The Single Point of Access is a telephone triage service which provides a quick and easy way for members of the public, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to make referrals to community health services such as community nursing, community therapy and other community services for people over the ages of 18 and living in Oxfordshire.

SPA team is made up of experienced administrators and clinicians who work closely together. When you start, you'll have line manager and peer support as well as training and other resources to support you do your work effectively.

SPA is spread over two bases, Banbury, and Abingdon, operating 8am-8pm, 365 day a year on a shift pattern basis. Shift patterns are 08:00-16:00, 10:30-18:30 and 12:00-20:00.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and coordinate the day to day administration work load
  • Answer the health care professional phone line.
  • To provide a timely administrative service, ensuring that all referrals received via email or telephone call are tracked through to allocation and/or providing administrative support to the referral process.
  • To provide administrative support for meetings as requested and to ensure follow up action is completed, including arranging meetings, producing notes, preparing agendas, ensuring that relevant paperwork is maintained and available to ensure correspondence/information is available.
  • The workload can be busy and changeable, so a can-do attitude and an adaptable approach is required.
  • Ideally you will be able to work from either sites to cover two other team members in the same role.
