We have an exciting opportunity for an Administration Officer to join our Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team, including the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) service in Barnsley
The ESD service provides care to patients following a stroke in a community setting. It enables patients to continue their rehabilitation therapy at home, with the same intensity & expertise that they would receive in hospital. The Integrated team allows for Stroke specific therapy to be continued as required for a maximum period of 6 months
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive secretarial/administrative role to the new Community Stroke Service
You will have the ability to work without direct supervision, be able to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, use initiative & prioritise your workload in order to meet deadlines, maintain & record accurate details & have good organisational skills
Key duties include using electronic patient records (e.g. SystmOne), Microsoft Office, diary and email management, arranging appointments, typing reports and letters, minuting meetings, and general administrative tasks such as ordering, filing, photocopying, and scanning

Main duties of the job
As Administration Officer you will:
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office
Have a high level of written & verbal communication skills
Ensure confidentiality at all times
Have the ability to work without direct supervision
Work as part of a team
Use initiative & prioritise your workload in order to meet deadlines
Have good organisational skills
The successful candidate will provide administrative support and key duties include:
Working within Electronic Patient Records (e.g. SystmOne)
Producing documents using Microsoft Office software packages
Dealing with telephone calls and messages and service referrals
Arranging meetings
Arranging appointments and letters
Ordering items via our procurement system
Knowledge of SSNAP would be an advantage

work within well-established departmental/Trust policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and established service delivery plans at all times.
use effective verbal/written communication at all times, incorporating tact, empathy, consideration, courtesy and confidentiality. Adapt style of communication to respond to others user communication difficulties.
ensure the service experienced is positive and service user confidentiality is maintained at all times. Treat users of the service, colleagues etc, with respect, dignity, courtesy and in accordance with the Trusts Values.
