The Oncology & Haematology Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital are looking for a full time Administrative Assistant to join a team of staff who support the administrative work necessary for the smooth running of the Centres.
The ability to prioritise and structure workload and present a calm and understanding approach at all times is key to this role. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to be able to treat patients with empathy, dignity and respect are essential.
Basic computer skills are essential. Previous experience of working with the hospital electronic patient administrative system is preferred but training will be provided.
The post holder will need to be able to work 37.5 hours between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm and will work as part of a wider team including Consultants, Medial Secretaries, Nurses and Health Care Assistants. The post holder will be expected to cover administrative roles within both the Oncology and Haematology Departments
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work flexibly across all administrative services to meet service needs which will include reception, appointments, clinic preparation and all office support functions.
