The post holder will be part of the Community Paediatrics Team delivering assessment and intervention for children with special needs/developmental difficulties, neurodevelopment conditions and other complex needs across the South of Staffordshire, both pre and post diagnosis. The post holder will be instrumental in the delivery of a high-quality service working with other members of the team and across the children and families care group. This will include management of a clinical caseload through the delivery of non-medical prescribing in addition to other evidence-based interventions. The service will require skills in child and family centred care, with experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside medical and other health, educational and voluntary services.

- Work closely with the members of the Community Paediatric service in developing, implementing, and monitoring care provided to children, young people and their families.

- Work autonomously, taking the lead in preliminary assessments of new referrals using the agreed assessment tools and analysis of the resulting information. Undertake and record observations within schools, clinics, and home settings.
- To act as a non-medical prescriber within the scope of practice, in line with NMC, NICE and national guidelines around medicines optimisation prescribing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- To act as a non-medical prescriber within the scope of practice, in line with NMC, NICE and national guidelines around medicines optimisation prescribing.
- Implement a family centred care approach, which captures the voice of the child and promotes involvement in the decision-making process.
- Work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive inclusive and expert assessment of children referred with symptoms and comorbidities based upon appropriate use, interpretation, and integrations of complex data from a variety of sources, including psychological assessments, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations as well as interviews with the young people and their families.
