NHS Lothian Clinical Health Psychology Service is delighted to be offering a permanent 1.0 wte B4 Assistant Psychologist post, primarily providing support to the Pain Management Service . This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop and extend psychological competencies in a specialist setting, supported by an experienced and enthusiastic team.
The Pain Management Programme is jointly run by psychologists and physiotherapists and offers highly specialist assessment and interventions in both group and individual formats to approximately 1000 patients each year. The role of the Assistant Psychologist is essential, in supporting the administration of groups, the clinical work of practitioners and the ongoing evaluation and development of the service. You will need to be autonomous, organised, flexible and diligent. Over recent times we have worked hard to adapt our delivery of interventions for remote working, and so strong skills in IT will also be an asset. In exchange we can offer a diverse range of experiences in a service with a strong track record of progressing its Assistants to clinical training. Please note that due to high anticipated interest in this post, there will be a cap on the number of applications accepted and it is likely that this post will therefore close early.
Interested persons are encouraged to contact Dr Jonathan Todman (Senior Clinical Psychologist) Jonathan.todman2@mhslothian.scot.nhs.uk to discuss the role.
