NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We will fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. For more details on these changes please visit: Disclosure Scotland Changes.

A dedicated, enthusiastic and well-motivated radiographer is required to join our imaging team in these busy departments. The postholder will rotate through CT and MRI and will be heavily involved in the practical and theoretical teaching of students and radiographers on rotation from the general department.

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a major trauma centre and there is a requirement to provide 24/7 on site cover for CT, which the successful candidate will be part of.

Evening and weekend working in CT and MRI will also be expected as part of the 37 hour week.

The department provides scanning of most body areas with Canon Aquilion Prism, Prime SP and Lightning CT scanners and Philips Intera Ambition X and Siemens Magnetom Aera MRI scanners.

Imaging Team radiographers are expected to be proactive regarding further education and continuing professional development. A flexible approach to work is essential and the postholder must be committed to providing the highest quality service to our patients, customers and colleagues.

Previous NHS experience is essential.

Established experience in CT is essential and MRI experience would certainly be an advantage.

A face to face interview will be required.
