This is an exciting time at Barnsley Hospital with the recent implementation of electronic prescribing bringing excellent opportunities for further innovation and service development.

If you are looking for an exciting new challenge, we have the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and forward-thinking registered pharmacy technician to take on the role of Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician within our inpatient/outpatient dispensaries.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for carrying out dispensing functions and to perform final accuracy checks on prescriptions and orders, which have previously been clinically checked by a pharmacist in accordance with Trust procedures. Opportunities will be available to support and develop your career pathway. The department has a strong Quality Improvement ethos and you will have the opportunity to become involved in a variety of QI projects. This is a really exciting time to be joining our dispensary team as we develop ways of further integrating with our patient facing clinical colleagues.

This post is full-time and your contracted hours will be worked over 5 days, including participation in the weekend, late night, and bank holiday rotas.
